Northwest Neighborhoods CDC (formerly Cudell Improvement, Inc. and DSCDO) provides comprehensive community development services to nearly 28,000 residents in Cudell, Detroit Shoreway and Edgewater on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio. Contact our staff for services and assistance.

Community outreach services include civic engagement, neighborhood events, volunteer opportunities and support for resident-driven projects.

The Cudell and Edgewater neighborhoods are home to many neighborhood block clubs and associations, which meet to discuss community events and concerns. Contact Christopher Brown at christopher@nwneighborhoods.org to get involved with your block club or resident group!

Northwest Neighborhoods also monitors crime trends and assists victims of crime.

Healthy Homes Initiative
Residents can receive free help finding and applying for home repair resources through the Healthy Homes Initiative, which was created last year by the City of Cleveland. Kena Chappell is the Healthy Homes Coordinator serving the Cudell, Edgewater, Detroit Shoreway and West Boulevard Neighborhoods, and she is available to assist you. We facilitate the expansion, retention, and relocation of businesses in the Cudell and Edgewater neighborhoods by providing support and technical assistance to businesses and merchant associations in the areas of financing, events, property and site plan research, zoning, and City of Cleveland permitting.

We promote the Cudell and Edgewater neighborhoods as quality places to live, work and enjoy. We organize and support community events for residents and stakeholders to meet, work together and celebrate. Our signature community event is Edgewater NeighborFest.
